The Heart Beats

The Second Temple stood on the Temple Mount as the center of National life for over 500 years.

In the year 70 powerful Roman legions breached the walls of Jerusalem on the 17th day of the month of Tammuz. The Nation defended the Temple Mount for three weeks. Both Temples were destroyed on the 9th day of the month of Ab which continues to be observed as a National day of mourning by Jews everywhere.

The Seven Branch Gold Menorah was taken to Rome to be displayed in the victory parade. This Menorah was so important to the Romans that it was memorialized on the Arch of Titus.

For 1900 years the memory of the Menorah was preserved in the Heart of the Nation. In 1948 the Menorah became the National symbol of the reborn State of Israel.

The proper home for the Menorah is on the Temple Mount.

Open Access to the Temple Mount Now.
